Description
Exclusive! Deep purple snow pea. Beautiful 3–3 1/2" snow pea pods. Flavor is pleasant, though mildly bitter. Makes a nice addition to salads, cole slaws, or may be used as an edible garnish. Best used raw but may be lightly steamed or sautéed. Stays purple if lightly cooked but will become "muddy" colored if overcooked. Pods that are overmature, or exposed to high temperatures, may diminish in color to a mottled purple. The 30", pink-flowered vines produce 2 pods per node. Bred by the late Dr. Calvin Lamborn.
